Not sure if its shingles?

What is shingles?

Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus (varicella-zoster) that lies dormant in the body. It can appear years after you’ve had chickenpox.

The rash usually clears within 2–4 weeks. It can be very painful.

Prompt treatment can help reduce symptoms and complications.

 Symptoms of shingles

  • Burning, tingling, or itching before the rash appears
  • A red rash that develops into fluid-filled blisters
  • Localised pain or sensitivity to touch
  • Fever, headache, or feeling generally unwell

How Pharmacy First at Fusion Pharmacy helps with shingles

  • Assess your condition
  • Provide NHS-approved treatment if you qualify.
  • Recommend self-care measures to ease pain and speed recovery
  • Direct you to further care if your condition needs a GP or hospital review
